One day we have summer, the next day it feels already like autumn. The change between those two seasons came so fast this year…last week it was really hot with sun all day, this week is cold with rain every day and lots of thunderstorms. Even the leafes are turning golden and red by now. And I still wonder: When did this happen?
Last month was quite busy, but I finally had the chance to enjoy four days with my boyfriend at the sea in the Netherlands. It was really relaxing and we had a great time!
Other news: You remember my last trip to my hometown Zoo in Cologne in August? One day before I visited the zoo, the keepers made a quite surprising discovery: When they visited Hanya, our tiger Mom, there were three newborn tiger cubs. Why the big surprise? No one had even dreamed of the chance that there would be cubs, as Altai her old mate was shot two years ago in a tragic accident. So the father of the newest zoo members is "Jegor", Hanyas and Altais son who moved a few weeks ago into a zoo in Bavaria. Normally male tiger reach their sexual maturity when they are two and a half or three years old. As Jegor is only one and a half year old…no one even dreamed of him being able to make his mother pregnant. But still it happened. While there are a lot of discussions about this accident, I personally don't see the point in arguing about what happened and just hope that all three cubs will grow up to be healthy tigers. And I will surely visit them when they will make their first steps outside in the middle of this month.
Other than that I really hope that the rain will stop in the next two weeks as I already planned to visit one or two zoos in the Netherlands. Only around one hours drive from here there is "Best Zoo" about which I read and heared good things by
. I got really curious about it. There also is the Burgers Zoo in Arnhem, which is not very far away either and which I wanted to visit for quite some time.
And if I can not manage to visit those two in the next time, I still hope I will be able to make it to Zoo Krefeld which had quite a Baby Boom this year, or maybe Zoo Duisburg.
But enough from me…I promised in my last journal entry that I will do a watchers feature when I reach the magical line of 100 watchers. And guess what? I did it! Thanks to everyone who liked my photography that much, that they decided to keep track of it!
As there are so many great pieces in your galleries, I will split the feature and maybe even do a second and third one. Enjoy the first round and please favourite or watch if you like what you see!
